Board Rules
These will and must be enforced by all moderators:

The following are basic rules for use of the RCX-Media community forum. Anyone caught disobeying these guidelines will be issued a warning. The forum staff works on a three strike policy unless the situation calls for more appropriate action. A permanent ban on the forums results in a ban from posting on the website, and vice versa.

1.) First Warning
2.) Second Warning
3.) Third Warning
4.) Temporary Ban (48 Hours)
5.) Permanent Ban

Website Bans and Forum Bans
If you recieve a 100% warn level on the forums, you will be banned from the forum pending chance for appeal. If we feel that your offense has been extensively bad, We reserve the right to IP ban you. We can also ban you from viewing the website and forum. So be careful.

Process of Appeals
Once banned, that person has a chance at an appeal to the Senior Staff in which they state their case and why they deserve to be allowed back into RCX. This process alone may take up to four or five days, depending on the activity of the moderators, admin, and the time of the year. If your appeal is denied, you may try once more at a later date, suggestively a month or more, depending on if we feel your appeal has given us reason to trust you again.

People may also appeal individual warnings. You should only appeal a warning if:

1.) You can show with evidence that it was unwarranted or unduly harsh.

2.) If a reasonable amount of time has passed (no less than three to four weeks) in which you have demonstrated reformed behavior. Wasting staff time with inappropriately filed reports and/or unfounded appeals will resort in a warn level raise. Repeat occurrences will result in a ban from the forum entirely.

The only place where discussion of moderator action is acceptable is in the appropriate Moderation forum. Posting commentary or disagreement with moderator action elsewhere will result in a warn for the poster.

Flame/Flamebait and Trolling
Flaming is expressing anger at someone in inappropriate ways with out of character (OOC) comments. Flamebait are posts that are made with the aim of angering someone directly or indirectly. Forum users should not be participating in either as in doing so will result in a warning regardless. Trolling is submitting posts with the aim of angering a group instead of an individual. Trolling is not tolerated and will result in a warning.

Topic Hijacking
Hijacking is forcing the current thread discussion off of the original topic and usually results in spam or flame from either side. Forum users found hijacking threads will be given a verbal warning, then warn level raise +1 for every occurence thereafter until banned.

Repeat Topics
One topic is enough. Repeat topics will be locked and moved to the archives. Users found purposefully creating repeat topics after others were locked by staff will result in a verbal warning.

Spam
Spam is not permitted on the RCX-Media Forums in unsanctioned areas of the board. Improper use of spam will result in verbal warning then if not corrected, warn level raise +1.

No Discussion Forums
There are forums that are not for discussion and are used strictly for forum staff to address certain issues, bugs, etc. The following forums are not open to discussion: Report Website Abuse, Report Forum Abuse, and Warn/Ban Appeals. Only moderators and the original poster may post in a thread, period. Users found disobeying this guideline will receive a warning.

Mild/Explicit Language
Mild expletives (crap, damn, etc.) are generally frowned upon and should be extremely limited in use. We do censor some of the words, but if you are caught using it in another word to get your point across, still counts. (Ex. a$$, d@m). Obnoxiously excessive use of what are deemed mild expletives on the open forum will result in a verbal warning then warn level raise "+1" if not adhered to.

Harsh expletives (sh*t, f*ck, etc.) are forbidden on all parts of the forum. Excessive use, will be subject to warning from moderation up to and including forum access restriction. Again, we do have censors, but as before, if you are mixing words, you will still be committing the offense.

Harassment
Forum users should not be stalking/harassing others on the forums. Anyone found stalking players from topic to topic, etc., will be subject to a warning.

Signatures
Those who fail to read and comply by these rules will have their signatures 'fixed' without warning. You may have only 1 picture per signature which may not exceed the maximum size described below, only 6 to 8 lines of text and/or links and a font size no larger than 5.

Signature pictures must adhere to a total area of 450x150. Please don't message the moderation staff asking for an exemption as one will not be granted to you.

Obscene Spam /Account Suicide
Anyone caught posting Goatse, Tubgirl, Lemonparty, or anything related in either text or picture form will have their account(s) permanently banned, and their ISP contacted.

Death Threats
A death threat will equate to an automatic ban from the site and forums, if it is determined to be malicious. We do not tolerate such an action here whatsoever and will contact their ISP for further law enforcement follow up.

Account Names
Forum account names may not be profane or offensive. The making of more than one account will not be allowed. Doing so will result in one or both of those accounts being, suspended, banned, or deleted without notice to the account owner. If the account is suspended, chance of appeal can be discussed via PM,AIM,MSN, or IRC (to be determined by staff on case).

Impersonation
A player may not impersonate another player by creating another forum account with a name very similar to the person they are impersonating. Accounts that are in violation of this will be banned or deleted without notice to the owner.

Avatars
Size for avatars is limited by the forum mechanics, therefore there is no size issue for a user to worry about. We have set the avatars to be no greater that 100 by 100 pixels. If your image is larger, it may look distorted. Avatars must be in good taste, and any avatar containing a picture that is too violent, disgusting, sexually explicit, insulting to another player or staff member, etc. will be removed. Avatars that are potentially seizure inducing will not be permitted.

Racist Comments
Racial comments will not be tolerated, period. Failure to adhere to this ruling will result in a temporary ban or permanent ban depending on the situation.

Moderation Staff
Claims of moderator bias should be directed to the Lead Forum Admin. There is a yellow, bolded link in the PM section of "my controls" to send a PM directly to Lyndon. Please make subject "Moderator Bias Complaint". Claims of moderator bias without supporting evidence is grounds for a warning and/or suspension.

Blatant disrespect of the moderator staff is strictly prohibited. This includes but is not limited to spoofing moderator accounts in any way, sig/avatar references, baiting, flaming, rude demands, threats, harassment, or blackmail in or outside of these forums. They are volunteers hired to enforce the rules. If you have a problem with the way a moderator is enforcing the rules or the rules themselves please contact an available member of the Senior Staff.

Do not ask about becoming a moderator. The moderators are drawn from RCX membership, but moderation positions are by invitation only with few application periods. Asking to become one will decrease your chances of ever being asked or considered.

Questionable Actions and Content
The forum rules are not designed to cover every scenario. Any action that is seen to be counter-productive or harmful to the forum community may be met with moderator action against your account. The RCX Moderation Staff reserves the right to take action against your account without warning if you are seen engaging in such behavior.
